THE TOMB IS EMPTY! HE IS NOT HERE FOR HE IS RISEN. “AS HE SAID.”

DEARLY BELOVED BRETHREN:

Because Christ is risen from the dead, we have a sure and living hope. The great men and religious leaders of history are dead. One can often go to a grave somewhere and find that their leaders bones lie silently in that grave. Not so with Jesus Christ the Lord! Most religions are doing a work to appease their god. They hope their work will satisfy his anger. The Christian knows that Jesus Christ has appeased the wrath of God. We know that HE has accomplished all the works that are needed. We simply by repentance and faith, receive HIM as our Lord and Savior. No works on our part will save. We must only be willing for HIM to take away our sin. As one having a cure for all forms of cancer and refusing to share it, we too often are not willing to share this faith in Christ that can save all types of sinners from going to hell. Actually, this latter thing is more criminal than the former. I praise God that the tomb is empty. Eternal life is in Christ Jesus the Lord!

April promises to be a great month for us. April 4, is Easter. I will certainly preach the way of salvation. I hope you will bring people who are without Christ that they may hear the gospel and be saved. On Sunday night, Brother Basinger will have a musical package for us. On April 10, we’ll have FAMILY NIGHT. Plan to come and bring another family in the community with you. They are all welcome to come to these times of socializing. It can be a time to share with them the Word of God. Brother Lahmann has been doing a good job with this. It is a time in which we end the evening with a devotional from the Word and a time of prayer. On April 18, Dr. Jesse Bloom will be preaching in the p.m. service. April 25, is Children’s Church Night. We will witness what goes on in our children’s church under the direction of Brother Scott Sutton, and we will see what goes on in our Junior High Church under the direction of Brother Ron Thompson. Brother Thompson will complete the evening by preaching a sermon for us.

If you have not turned in your FAITH PROMISE, be sure to do so today. This letter goes out on March 28. You have until March 31 to turn in your FAITH PROMISE. If you are uncertain how to fill out the card, be sure to see Milan Land.

The summer will soon be upon us. Some will be leaving to go back North. Others will be taking extended vacations. Please understand that the work of Central Baptist goes on. The bills still must be paid. I hope you will remember to leave your tithe if you are going out of town.

Finally, I have a prayer request. Please begin praying for OCA to have an enrollment of at least 380, for the fall term. Actually, I’m praying for 400. We want to be able to bring back our teachers. Yet our main reason is that we have more souls to which to minister. We want to affect the lives of young people for the cause of Christ. We want to give them an excellent education, but also to have good instruction in sound doctrine. Join with us in this prayer request.

In Christ,
Pastor Andy Bloom
