Our Heritage

Pastor Andy Bloom

At Central Baptist Church, we believe it is right to honor faithfulness and to give thanks for those whom the Lord has used to shepherd His people. Pastor Andy has faithfully served this congregation for many years, and we are deeply grateful for the life and ministry he has poured into this church.

Pastor Andy served as Assistant Pastor for two years and then as Senior Pastor for thirty-eight years, following in the footsteps of his predecessor and father, Dr. Jesse Bloom. Together, across generations, they faithfully labored to preach the Word of God, care for God’s people, and strengthen this church upon a foundation of truth.

Through his preaching, leadership, and shepherd’s heart, Pastor Andy invested deeply in Central Baptist Church. Many have been encouraged, strengthened, and helped in their walk with the Lord because of his steady, Christ-honoring service. His care for people—both in seasons of joy and in times of difficulty—has left a lasting spiritual impact that will continue for years to come.

We thank the Lord for Pastor Andy’s obedience to God’s call and for the spiritual fruit that came through his decades of faithful ministry. We continue to pray for him and his family, asking the Lord’s richest blessings upon the next chapter of their lives and service.

As a church, we also recognize that God works through faithful leadership across generations. The mantle of pastoral responsibility at Central Baptist Church has been carefully passed from Pastor Foust to Dr. Jesse Bloom, and from Pastor Jesse to Pastor Andy—each man serving in his season with faithfulness, humility, and obedience to the Lord.

A Personal Word from Pastor Joe

I purpose to carry the mantle that has been passed to me as a good steward and protector of what the LORD has entrusted to this church. I do not take lightly the responsibility of following faithful men who have gone before me, nor the sacred trust that has been placed in my care.

I count it a great privilege to have served under and been discipled by Pastor Andy. I have seen firsthand his love for the Lord, his faithfulness to the Word of God, and his genuine care for God’s people. His example and personal investment in my life have helped shape both my ministry and my heart as a pastor.

By God’s grace, I am committed to guarding what has been built, strengthening what has been handed down, and leading Central Baptist Church forward in faithfulness to the Lord Jesus Christ. We honor the past with gratitude, serve the present with humility, and look to the future with confidence—trusting the same Lord who has faithfully guided this church through every generation will continue to lead us in the days ahead.

With gratitude and humility,

Pastor Joe Carpenter
